The Arts Fund Gallery will be showcasing the Funk Zone Charrette Exhibition, which teams up artists and architects to envision what the Funk Zone could be. Public Ping Pong will be outside of the gallery for part of the afternoon. Arts Fund IAA Winner Hugh Margerum is the co-founder of Public Ping Pong.

Cabana Home in conjunction with Edward Cella Art + Architecture will be hosting an exhibition reception with artists Pedro E. Guerrero, Mary Heebner, Brian Hollister, and Ruth Pastine.
The event is 10:30 – 12:00 for “coffee and muffins with the artists”. The store will be open to show off the art and Cabana Home home furnishings until 6:00.

CAF’s inaugural exhibition at the new Hotel Indigo Santa Barbara celebrates contemporary art with Open House: Alejandro Diaz, Ann Diener, Stephanie Dotson, Rob Fischer, Francesca Gabbiani, Saul Gray-Hildenbrand, Nathan Hayden, Cyndee Howard, Jennifer Nocon, Zacarias Paul, Luke Stettner, Kirsten Stoltmann, Sandra Torres, and James Van Arsdale. The artists featured in this year-long exhibition represent a constellation of highlights of CAF’s past ten years, with both existing and newly commissioned works. Comprising local, national, and international artists, Open House breaks down barriers between sightseers and art audiences, while instilling visitors with a deeper connection to Santa Barbara and the arts community. We will be hosting a live screen printing party in the shop. Patrons can pick out their style and color of blank garment to print on. Then they choose from different pieces of art and different colors set up on the press. We will print their creations right before their eyes.

The Wine of Art at Latitude Gallery, October 6-28 will exhibit the Funk Zone’s knack for artistic upcycling, concentration of wineries, and community of surfers. Reusing bottles, barrels, and crates as canvases, artists will pay homage to the drink that fuels so many creations. The opening will benefit Project Save Our Surf, an ocean conservation foundation fighting pollution. The evening will entertain with live music and wine.

Lindsey, a specialist in historical photographic processes, will be available to photograph tintype portraits. People are welcome to drop by and watch while she demonstrates the process or they can sign up to have their portraits taken. There will be a charge for the portraits. She cannot photograph small children or dogs because of the need to sit still for long exposures.
