Join us as we look at the works of Brooklyn-based artist and illustrator Nicholas Gazin and his artist/animator sister Penelope Gazin. Their approach focuses on more accessible outlets for the duo’s edgy drawings, films and photographs. They will explore the artist’s role in product branding and placement as well as their deft use of social media in building audiences for their broad range of art. Local film-maker and writer Ted Mills will moderate this lively and informative discussion.
Our host Cayetana Conrad is the artist-daughter of local writer and illustrator, Barnaby Conrad and the mother of Nicholas and Penelope. The setting for this salon is Tani’s rustic art studio and home south of Summerland. Originally owned by Cubist painter Howard Warshaw, Conrad has transformed the Northern California-style cedar board and batten home into a personal retreat that is perfect for entertaining as well as art-making. Long-time salon sponsor Brander Winery returns to feature its own creative selection of wines to complement this event.
Advance ticket purchase is required.
Individual Salon tickets are $100 per person.
Tickets purchased on or before September 2 are $85.
