Please join us on Friday, April 1st from 5-8pm for the Funk Zone Art Walk. The Funk Zone Art Walk is a bi-monthly event initiated to highlight the neighborhood’s vibrant artistic community. On April 1st, a dozen artist studios, galleries, and art-centric venues open their doors to the public from 5-8pm, making it the ideal opportunity to casually experience the Funk Zone’s cultural offerings. At any given venue, visitors can expect events such as exhibition openings, artist receptions, insightful art lectures or demonstrations, live music and performances, pop-up artist booths, beer and wine tastings, and various other interactive activities. The event is free to the public and welcomes all age groups.

Arts Fund Gallery:
Exhibition opening for Stone Soup curated by Ca(n)on Studios. Artists include Elizabeth Folk, Rafael Gaete, Kimberly Hahn, Marco Pinter, James Van Arsdale. Special performance by Heavy Cosmic Kinetic at 7pm.
The Blue Door:
Wallace is Art showcase with a meet and greet from 5-6. On display through June.
Figueroa Mountain Brewery:
Random Image Generator by Stafford Taylor, acrylic monotypes
Eros- Art of the Sensous: An exhibition of curves, lines & colors. Artists include: Michael Armour Steven DePinto. Runs through May 16th.
Large scale paintings by Skye Gwilliam
Abstract artists, David Reeser whose work is concerned with motion & color, and Scott Gordon who explores visual poetry.
Hotel Indigo Santa Barbara – MCASB Satellite:
Shift, Stretch, Expand: Everyday Transformations. Artists include Phil Argent, Weslie Ching, Petra Cotright, George Legrady, Kyra Lehman, Rebekah Miles, Maria Rendón, Stephanie Washburn, & Russell Young.
La Chambre Photographique:
Mammoth plate camera demonstration: Lindsey Ross, fine art photographer, will demonstrate creating an ambrotype of a nude model using her 20″x24″ Levy Process Camera at 6:30pm. ** Must be 21 years old to attend, limited space **
Mason Street Studios:
Artists include: Cynthia James’ dreamlike imagery of animals & nature, Phillip Koplin’s monotypes on antique maps & oddly inflected pencil drawings, Lisa Pedersen’s moodily impressionistic trees & landscape, and Jill Sattler’s abstract, heavily impastoed & richly colored explorations.
MichaelKate Interiors & Art Gallery:
Construct > Deconstruct, curated by Jan Ziegler. Artists include: Sophie MJ Cooper, Pamela Grau, Jeffrey Crussell, & Karin Aggeler. Artists explore various relationships we have with the natural world & urban infrastructure.
Studio one eleven:
Selected prints and works on paper from one of Santa Barbara’s most prolific and beloved artists, Gary Chafe, whose work captures the people, places, and culture that define our city. Featuring work from over four decades, this exhibit will include pieces from Chafe’s iconic & extensive body of monotypes, etchings, pastels and other works on paper.
